The festival throw light on Jewish history, present, and future. Sometimes with a blinking in the eye, but always profound. Jewish themes are discussed, Jewish biographies are narrated, and Jewish life in all its rich experience, tradition, and everyday culture is shown. The perspective of filmmakers from around the world is always unique and beyond common stereotypes. Following each film, there are engaging discussions with attending filmmakers, experts, or eyewitnesses. The festival provides a platform for everyone interested in film, culture, and religion or simply for people that are curious and open-minded to exchange ideas, discover something new in the familiar, and delve deep into history and daily life. A special focus of our festival is to keep the memory of the Holocaust and to make a clear statement against antisemitism, intolerance, racism, and any conspiracy theories.
